Join ATx Random for a new look at this timeless and relevant narrative as it explores inequity, societal/class conflict, and encourages one to look beyond stereotypes to discover we all have dreams and see the same sunsets. Jamestown Revival's Zach Chance & Jonathan Clay along with Justin Levine (Moulin Rouge, Here Lies Love, Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson) infuse THE OUTSIDERS with the sound of classic country/folk/rock music of the '50s and '60s. Playwright, Adam Rapp adapts S.E. Hinton's beloved all too timely novel for the stage, Tony Nominee Liesl Tommy directs (Eclipsed, upcoming Aretha Franklin biopic, Respect), and choreographed by Lorin Latarro (Waitress). World premiere: The Goodman Theatre in Chicago Summer 2020.
(Based on Princess Diana)
In 1981, an assistant kindergarten teacher married the Prince of Wales and, overnight, became the most famous woman in the world. But behind the fairytale, there was a troubled marriage and a young woman struggling to find her voice. Facing an entrenched monarchy and unprecedented media scrutiny, Princess Diana surprises everyone – including herself – as she grows into a global phenomenon and manages to change the world.
Director Christopher Ashley (Come From Away, Escape from Margaritaville, Summer), the Tony Award-winning writers Joe DiPietro and David Bryan (Memphis), and choreographer Kelly Devine (Come From Away, Memphis, Rocky) create this highly anticipated musical, featuring an epic and sweeping contemporary score.
